We have been looking in our environment to find inspiration to create our calendar art work.
We chose to sketch the Kauri tree in our school because we are from the Kauri team.
We were asked to take snap shots of part of the Kauri tree. Jizer chose to 'look, draw, look' at the trunk of the tree. This is a snap shot of his drawing and Mrs Blair took a photo of the Kauri tree trunk so we could see the similarities between the two pictures.
We needed to 'look, draw, look' so we could see all the details. Ricky
The sketch above belongs to Khadija.
When we finished sketching the Kauri tree we walked down to the daffodils in the car park. We had to sit somewhere where we could see one daffodil or a bunch so we could sketch them. Tare
The breeze kept skimming over the daffodils. It made it hard to sketch the daffodils. Ricky
Erin and I found a broken daffodil. We were happy to be able to hold it but we were saddened to learn that someone else had broken it off. Hazel
