Daily five is is our literacy block.
We have five choices that we can chose from read to self, work on writing, read to someone, listen to reading, word work.
Our favorite bit of daily five is working on writing and reading to self. We like reading to self because you get to read more books and learn more words.
Writing is also fun to do because you get to cary on stories that you haven't had time to finish.
Here are some photos of what our daily five looks like in our class room.
Some of us read to self.
To pick the right book we use PICK.
PICK means Purpose, Interest, Comprehend and Know.
We can read to someone else.
When we read to someone else we use EEKK.
EEKK means Elbow to elbow, knee to knee. We also use 6 inch voices to talk to each other.
We hope that EEKK and PICK can help you with your reading and reading to someone.
In this photo we are changing our daily five choices.
This is the task board for daily five.
We have name tags and we place our name the task that we want to do.
Some of the groups get to work with Mrs Blair during daily five. She sees different groups each day and everyone sees her every week.
Some of us read to self.

When we writ we inspire the teacher with our imaginative writing.
For listen to reading we use a suite called tumble books. Tumble books is a suite that has stories and a voice reads you the story to you.
Do you have anything that you want to share about your learning
or

We also do Daily Five but we do one per day because we have Independent Learning Plans (ILP's). Our favourite two choices are Read to Self and Work on Writing.
