Ice-cream from cream!

Room 12 made ice-cream, not the kind that you buy in the shops. We made our very own. We had to read and write the recipe down so we knew what we had to do to make it.

We measured everything into a glad bag then we zipped it up tight. We put this into another bag just to be sure that nothing could escape. We put the bags into a big bag full of ice. Did you know if you add salt to ice it makes the salt drop temperatures. We did this to make our ice-cream faster.

Here are some photos of us shaking our ice-cream. It took between 5 and 8 minutes! The melting ice made the tea towel wet which made the ice-cream tricky and cold to shake. We took turns in our group to shake, shake, shake!

When it was ready to eat, we got a clean spoon and took turns tasting it. It was very cold in our mouth.
Some ice-cream was smooth and some people shook their ice-cream so much that it turned icy.

Next time we make this we would add different flavours like strawberry, chocolate or lolly's.
Our ice-cream was flavoured with vanilla essence.

Look out for the recipe. We will post it soon.

  2. Wow Room 12 that is awesome! I was really jealous because one of my favourite ice cream flavours is Vanilla. I think you are the first class to make ice cream from cream! The whole class looks like they're excited about it because they were looking straight at the ice cream, and because they were the first class to eat ice cream at school. You should tell us how to make it.
