In Room 12 we have been learning about Change of State.
This week we have been experimenting with things that dissolve.
Kory brought a volcano to school for us watch explode. Kory made the volcano with his Dad. They made it using the top part of an old plastic bottle. They put newspaper on top of the bottle and put the bottle in a shallow cardboard box. Then they painted it using volcanic colours. They had to paint it while it was still wet. It took them an hour and a half to make! Thank you Kory for sharing this experiment with us.
Before After
Kory had put baking soda in the bottle before he brought it to school. At school we decided to use white vinegar and add red food colouring to make it look real!
Have you tried this experiment before?
Did you know that baking soda and vinegar mixed together makes carbon dioxide. We found this out when we did a different experiment.

Wow what a graet thing to do. That must be cool seeing it explode really.
