This koru is cover in flowers because the flowers show respect to the 50 Muslim people that died in a mosque in Christchurch.

At Hamilton East School we acknowledged the people from the Christchurch shooting and the Muslim community of Aotearoa by laying flowers and taking time to pause and think.
I felt super sad when I heard when something happened and someone was hurting the people in Christchurch. I felt so, so sad because some people lost their love ones, people lost their family and it is so sad because some kids are still babies and they got killed. 50 people got killed and 49 got injured.
