Harvest festival

Last Friday the whole school celebrated our class gardens by harvesting our food and sharing what we made.

Our class grew lettuce, when we went to harvest it we found it had overgrown and gone to seed. We had already planned to make lettuce sandwiches so we had to buy some lettuce to make our sandwiches.

We got to taste food that the other classes made. Some classes made pizza with tomatoes from the garden, Rm 14 made potato chips, Rm 8 and Rm 5 made salsa with tomatoes from the garden.

It was so neat to see what has been growing in our Hamilton East School gardens.

  2. Wow! That is so cool. Are school does not have a garden but last year we each planted flowers in the front of the school. It looked so beautiful when all the flowers were fully bloomed! What did your gardens look like when they were done?
