The second reason is because he came to talk on behalf of the Sir Peter Blake Red Socks Trust. His message is about dreaming big or 'standing tall and reaching high'. This is our school whakatauki and in Te Reo it reads 'Tu Tangata, Tu Maia!'
When Mike was a boy he had a stutter. He couldn't say his 'm's' very well, which was made even more difficult with a name like Mike McRoberts. But he had speech lessons and overcame his stutter. He was telling us that because of his stutter, he became a great listener which has really helped him become a great journalist.
He asked us to think about our dreams. What are they and how do we plan to achieve them?
When Mike had finished talking to us, our Kapa Haka group, showed him their amazing talent by their outstanding performance.
Thanks for visiting us Mike McRoberts. See you at 6.00pm!
