I am learning to use Language
Today we looked at this part of the tool kit.
Our goal has been to speak in full sentences and use the language of success.
We also talked about the different sort of language we use when we are working on our literacy and numeracy, creativity and digital technologies.
We realised that we use this language all day and often don't realise we are using it.
We then looked around the room for examples of this language and took pictures of it.
Literacy - we talk about how we read and write. We discuss the strategies we use and we talk about what we are reading and writing about.
This is an analogue clock but we use digital technology to tell the time as well.
Numeracy, we are talking about statistics at the moment, we use the language of graphing, pie charts, bar charts, stem and leave graphs, mean median and mode and much more. Soon we will be using numerical language and talking about how to solve number problems.
This is an example of creativity, we discussed this paper weaving and how it might have been done.
Here is another example of creativity. We made our name in art and discussed how to draw block letters and how to choose colours that will pop'.
We use Te Reo as much as we can.
And of course we use technology, we talk about being cyber smart and how technology can support our learning.
