A special visit from the inspiring Stu Duval

On Monday and Tuesday this week we had Stu Duval come to visit.

He is a great artist. When he was younger he did drew a lot. When he looked at the alphabet he saw his name- Stu and he got excited by seeing letters that he could turn into cartoons. Stu asked us to tell him a number and we gave him the number 6088 and he turned the number into a grandma. We also gave him the letter T and he turned that into our teacher!
Keep an eye out for a post from us showing you how to draw using what we learnt from Stu.

Stu is a talented published author. He took us on a journey by telling us one of his stories about the flax cross.

On Tuesday he told us how to be story writers. He told us to read stories to help us get better at writing.
The strategy he taught us how to write about an action, reaction and more reaction. Stu told us to use ARM to remember. We also have to put obstacles in his way and to make it more exciting by thinking about taking our reader on a roller coaster and he to give the reader some bait to want to read our story. Lastly we need to tell the reader what, where, why, who and when.

We are so excited to be writing!
See Stu's website here.
